The new State Library Station will feature 3 separate entrances and include a connection directly with Melbourne Central station allowing for ease of changeover between City Loop services and Metro Tunnel.

The project will also create 3500 square meters of new public space from reconfigured road space, along with a strong increase in trees and greenery in the area. The station will also feature worldclass artwork once completed, as part of the Metro Tunnel Legacy Artwork Program.
