Inquiry Into The Multi Purpose Taxi Program (MPTP)

6 April, 2022 | 1 min read

Very proud to table the Economy and Infrastructure Committee’s report into the Multi-Purpose Taxi Program in Parliament this week.

This report is the culmination of our inquiry into this important program, which has been transporting Victorians with a disability and helping everyone to live a full life since 1983.

Our report has made recommendations in areas such as:

✅ Safety and driver training.

✅ The availability and geographic distribution of Wheelchair Access Vehicles (WAVs).

✅ The commercial viability of the sector, including an appropriate increase of ‘lifting fees’.
Concerns about ‘surge’ pricing.

✅ The expected impact of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

✅ Complaints handling processes.

You can also view the full report here.

Here’s some of my speech.
