The Florey Institute in Parkville is the largest brain research centre in the Southern Hemisphere. The Institute is a world leader in research on motor neurone disease, dementia, epilepsy, stroke, alcohol use disorder and other brain-related conditions.

It was a pleasure to visit with my colleague Sheena Watt MP and the Deputy Premier of Victoria for a tour of The Florey labs and discussion with the world leading researchers that make the lab tick.

The Allan Labor Government is proud to be a strong supporter of the Florey through programs such as the Operational Infrastructure Support program and the Victorian Medical Research Acceleration Fund.
